Classic Cactus Salad Recipe
Have you ever tried nopalitos? If you haven’t you are missing trying something delicious. Mexicans love nopalitos and we have them in many dishes, they are very healthy and flavoursome. This classic Mexican nopalito salad is very easy to make, but it is pack with interesting and refreshing flavours.
- 400g jar La Costeña Tender Cactus Nopalitos
- 2 medium tomatoes
- ½ medium white onion
- ½ cup fresh chopped coriander
- 1 fresh jalapeño chilli
- ½ crumbled feta
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Open the jar of La Costeña Tender Cactus Nopalitos, remove the liquid and rinse the nopalitos very well with fresh water. Remove the chilli and the onion that come in the jar. Dice them and set aside.
Dice the tomatoes and the onion. Chop the coriander and the jalapeño.
Mix all the fresh ingredients in a large salad bowl, then add the feta, oregano, salt and olive oil and mix. Enjoy them as part of a Mexican feast or side dish.
