Fajitas are everyone’s favourite for a good reason! They are easy to make and delicious! These easy steak fajitas are perfect with rice, beans, or even as tacos with some freshly made corn tortillas.

Steak Fajitas

-500g steak such as flank or bavette

-1 medium red onion, sliced

-3 small bell peppers, mixed colours suggested. Sliced

-2 limes, juiced

-¼ cup vegetable oil

-1 tbsp soy sauce

-1 tbsp Jalapeno Peppers brine

-½ tbsp honey or agave syrup

-½ tbsp Maggi sauce

-1 tsp garlic powder

-1 tsp Lemon Pepper Seasoning

1 Whisk together the lime juice, oil, soy sauce, jalapeno brine, honey or agave, Maggi sauce, garlic powder, and Lemon Pepper Seasoning. 

2 Place the steaks on a tray or plastic bag and pour over the marinade. Make sure the steaks are well-covered with the marinade. Cover or seal the bag and marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.

3 Heat a grill pan or pan on medium-high. Place the steak pieces on the pan and cook for 5 minutes on each side or until the desired doneness. Remove the steaks from the pan and let them rest. 

4 Add the veggies to the leftover marinade and toss them around. Once coated, add the veggies to the same pan, without the marinade, and grill them until charred and just starting to soften. Discard the marinade. 

5 While the veggies are on the pan, slice the steaks against the grain and if desired, return them for a few seconds to the pan and toss with the veggies just before they are done to your liking. This will keep them warm and they will soak any leftover juices from the pan.
