Tender Cactus are integral to Mexican cuisine
They are extremely nutritious, packed with fibre and vitamins. They have a very low calorie count (100g carry only 16 calories). Their flavour could be compared to asparagus and green beans with a lemony hint. They are great fresh, grilled or pickled and can be used on a number of dishes such as soups, scrambled with eggs and salads.
