There is nothing better than fish tacos but when what you crave is an easier and healthier option, look no further than this easy recipe to get all the flavours in less time. Delicious fresh toppings and sides together with this amazing flakey fish will become your favourite summer bowl!

Fish Taco Bowl

-300g cod or any lean and flakey fish fillets

-2 tbsp neutral oil

-2 tbsp Chipotle Sauce

-1 tsp smoked paprika

-1 tsp garlic powder

-1 tsp onion powder

-1 tsp oregano

-1 tsp Tajin or Piko seasoning

-salt, to taste

-1 heaped tbsp flour

-1 tbsp vegetable oil

1 Mix the oil, chipotle sauce, paprika, garlic and onion powder, oregano, Tajin or Piko seasoning, and salt to taste. Mix in the flour and make a paste.

2 Brush the paste all over the fish fillets and rest in the fridge for at least an hour.

3 Set a frying pan to medium-high heat and once hot, add the vegetable oil. Cook the fish fillets for about 5 minutes on each side or until the fish is cooked through and has formed a nice crust. The cooking time will change depending on the size of the fillets. 


Notes

  • Chipotle Sauce is less spicy than regular Chipotles in Adobo. It is also smooth and with no seeds or texture at all so it makes it ideal when what you want is all the smokey flavour and less heat. You can, however, use the adobo from Chipotles in Adobo instead. 

Fish Taco Toppings

-fresh mango, diced

-avocado, sliced

-cocktail tomatoes, halved

-cucumber, thinly sliced

-lime juice

-Tajin or Piko Seasoning

1 Arrange all the toppings on a plate and drizzle over lime juice, Tajin or Piko seasoning to taste.


To Serve

Serve with cilantro lime rice, thinly shredded cabbage, pickled onions and all the delicious fresh toppings above. Do not forget to add a delicious and creamy sauce just like our Nutty Chipotle Sauce on top for maximum flavour!
